This year's book party is Saturday, March 5th, 2005. It might be called "Book Party Light" because of the few pages that will be involved. At just 96 pages, Favorite Father Brown Short Stories, by G. K. Chesterton, (Dover Thrift Editions) will make this one of the easiest events to prepare for. It's Six Sherlock-Holmes-Style short stories selected from among the many that Chesterton wrote. It's available at Amazon for $3.00 (or less). All of them are available for nothing on the web since they are out of copyright. I'm listing the stories here so that if you get the larger collections (The Innocence of Father Brown [I] and The Wisdom of Father Brown [W] ) from which these are taken, you'll know which ones we are covering.
There's a 1954 movie entitled "The Detective" based on "The Blue Cross " starring Alec Guiness (Obiwan Kenobi of Star Wars Episode 4). Hopefully we can get hold of a copy.
Email me expressing your interest so I can let you know the location, any costs, what food will be involved, and the times. You can ask me to get you a copy of the book (getting them in bulk might be cheaper if you are in the Columbus area). email: wmoore@BiblicalStudies.org.
